i guess that's the price that steinberg has to pay for having such an easy-to-use user interface. the problem is that people who've had no experience with nuendo will think that they can just get away with plug-ins. however, when steinberg did finally release a beta version of its much-hyped and much-anticipated daw-plugin suite, it felt a bit like they were trying to use the momentum of the daw itself to make a few extra sales. I love the way that nuendo supports, and encourages, the use of external plugins and hardware. for example, if you use the title window to edit the project title, you have to manually change the main title to match if you add any other characters to the project name. in addition to filtering the asset list, you can also use the key commands to sort the files by name, track, channel, midi key, or audio format.ĭespite the many improvements to the gui in nuendo 5, the history of features that have arrived has been rather patchy. the most useful of these is probably the asset list, which allows you to view all the audio and midi files currently in your project, filter them by a property such as their audio format, or display the files in a hierarchical view. most of the functions are fairly self explanatory, but for those that aren't, you can view a complete list of the functions in the view menu.

Like the name implies, steinberg's audio utility is designed to help you work with audio files in a variety of ways.
